What is data suppression? Well suppression is the process of removing your unwanted records from your database or your CRM system, these include gone aways, people or companies who have moved address, deceased people (for obvious reasons) or people who have requested not to receive communications through mail or telephone. Why should you be undertaken data suppression? well theres 3 main reasons, it makes your company look really unprofessional to be contacting dead people, obviously. people who have requested not to be contacted. It also saves you money by removing the records that you’ll never get a response from, and lastly its a legal requirement, GDPR specifies that personal data must be accurate, up to date and every reasonable step must be taken in terms of what steps should be taken to delete or correct inaccuracies as quickly as possible.
